Zain started his day just like he would any other. He stretched in the bright morning sunlight, and then bolted through the fog that still loomed over the ground. He had just caught then scent of what seemed like a rotting animal. He decided not to ignore it like he has all the the rotten aromas since he was about to pass out from starvation. All he has caught in the past five days was a grand total of two rabbit. Both of which he didn't get to finish all thanks to some other wolves. He thought about fighting to keep them, but the dogs were obviously very strong and could kill, and would kill, Zain. He rushed, almost hitting a couple trees, to were the aroma of rotten meat was coming from, hoping he would get there for at least a few scraps. The smell led him to a open clearing were the fog has dissipated. There, in the bright white snow, he saw a deer,(or whatever the main animal is in this region) almost completly eaten. He dug around and ended up finding a few scraps, just enough to keep him alive for at least the rest of the day. Zain savored every bite he could, still cautious about the owner of the territory he was in. He had known this area wasn't his, and he was pretty sure of the consequences. A few injures or even worst, death. He also knew that he would easily be seen because of his pitch black fur. After eating what little scraps were left he trotted along for his exersize. Zain only wanted a few things to come from his life. First, he wants to see what happened to his sister, Shiela. Second, he wants to find the wolf that killed the rest of his family. He understood very clearly that revenge corrupts, but what the wolf had done to his everlasting memories was unforgivable. Lastly, he just wants to know that there is a pack that will except him. After he walked his mile, he sat down and started to cry. The memories of his past became as clear as the daytime sun in the sky. He howled in the broad daylight, sad that he was all alone and since he had no family. He cut his howl off, just after he realized how loud he actually did cry. Probably loud enough for the entire region to hear his pathetic cries. He quickly took a glance at what was around him, and then decided that he would take a small nap in a nice clearing. Luckily he could see one just to his left, so he walked into it and laid down, close to the jungle in case he needed to run from something. He wanted to find a nice place out of sight, but he was exhausted from barley any food for days on end. Instead, he dug a small hole into the snow until he hit the frozen solid ground, and laid down for his nap.

Her padded paws hit the snow covered ground of the jungle at a fast pace, throwing snow behind her with each stride she took. Her blue oculars were locked on her target, a nice sized deer, that was prancing about ten feet in front of her. Usually she would like to catch the animal by surprise so the hunt wouldn't take long, but today, she had awoken in her den and had the sudden urge for a chase. Which is what led her here. She had been chasing the deer from the grasslands that weren't too far from her den, the the jungle that was the acceptance land of her pack. The deer just began to slow it's pace, getting tired from the long chase. Belle, though, still had a lot of energy since she was very agile, and she could run for two more hours if she had to. She was now in striking distance of the deer, and she leaped through the air and landed on the elk. She then leaped again, and land a few feet in front of the deer. Before the deer could turn around and run away, she opened her jowls and snapped at it's jugular, killing it immediately. "Well, that was fun," she said aloud.
Right before Belle was able to dig in, a howl interrupted her meal. She sighed in agitation, and ate her meal quickly so she could meet this wolf. She wasn't sure about his purpose in her lands. His howl had a more crying sound to it then it did a seeking acceptance sound. It wasn't long till she came made her appearance to the skinny black wolf. There was a problem here though, he was fast asleep. "Excuse me," she said in a regal voice.

Zain had just started drifting to sleep when a voice startled him from his nap. As soon as reality returned to him and his eyes opened, he saw a wolf that looked exactly like his sister. “Sheila,” he asked still curled as a ball, only lifting his head to look at the white wolf. How had she found him, he knew that she would not have came into unknown territory. She also would have recognized him immediately. In fact, the more he thought about it, the less likely it was her. He quickly jumped up and backwards, out of reach of an attack just to be safe. Should I run he thought for a second, knowing that he could probably outrun this wolf easily, but what if she was just as fast as him? He wouldn’t be able to hide due to the large contrast between his fur and the pure white snow. Who was this wolf, was it another intruder on this territory? He was almost sure it wouldn’t be the alpha or alphess, for he believed that they would have killed him. “Are you the… the alphess,” not much fear could be heard in his voice, more curiosity than anything. He hoped the white wolf in front of him was not the alphess the these lands. If it was the alphess he hoped she would be merciful. His legs a little weak from him laying down, his legs almost gave out, but he caught himself before he fell but a inch. “I am sorry if these are your lands,” he said as he slightly lowered his head enough to be noticed, but not enough to be considered a bow. He wanted to be polite in case she was an alpha, but didn’t want to bow to someone just as lowly as himself.

She figured that he did that to avoid an attack. She wasn't exactly sure, but that explanation was the most logical. The wolf then asked if she was Sheila. She wanted to to just simply shake her head as a reply, but she thought that words would make a better suited reply. "No, I am Annabelle. Who might this Sheila be," she asked in emotionless tone. Even though she appeared emotionless, she was slightly curious to find out who this Sheila was because apparently she looked like her. She sat her haunches on the snow covered ground as she waited for the male to answer her question or say something else.
The brute finally spoke, asking her if she was the alphess. He obviously was new to these lands known as Moonlight Wolves, because if he wasn't he would have known who she was and what rank she was with all the loners gossiping about all the packs in these lands. The brute had a look in his eyes like he was going to say something else, so Belle remained quiet and waited for the male to speak again. A couple moments later he apologized for being in her lands if they were hers and he added a slight bow to the end. She had to hand it to him, he did know how to be respectful. "Yes, I am the alphess of this pack known as Kazimir. What might your name be, and what is your purpose here in my lands," she said regally.

At the moment he heard her say that she is the alphess, he bowed his head so it was clear, he didn’t want any trouble. After bowing for a moment, he lifted his head back up, not in disrespect, but just so he can talk to Annabelle instead of the snow. “Shiela… she’s just…” Zain took a small pause, contemplating if he should tell this wolf, Annabelle, the truth. He was not very trusting with any wolf, especially ones he just met. “A friend.” He lied… Right after he said that he wondered why he did. He himself hasn’t seen Shiela for over a year. He decided that he couldn’t change his mind now, it was to far. Zain never was the best liar, but he could pull many lies off. During that sentence he thought he heard himself mess up, and didn’t want to repeat himself due to his low knowledge of how good she could see through lies. “I am sincerely sorry for intruding on your lands, I have no propose here and I shall leave immediately if you wish.” He said that like it was second nature, very formal and polite. . It was easily noticed to any wolf that he had said that before, many times before. In a way he wanted to leave, for Shiela was not here, or else Annabelle would have known, this place to him felt like home. He doesn’t know why and didn’t want to think about it. But no matter how hard he tried to push it from his mind it always came back, even stronger a thought then the last. He didn’t want to leave, yet he did. He wanted a home, and a pack that would accept him, yet he needed to find Shiela. He had just remembered that he forgot to bow after his sentence, a little caught up in his own thoughts. So again he bowed his head in respect to the alphess, quickly, hoping she wouldn’t notice, and looked up slightly so he could see her answer.

She was still getting new to this whole alphess thing, so the fact that the brute was bowing at her made her feel slightly uncomfortable since she was still getting use to this whole thing. She watched as he answered her question about who Sheila was. She could see through his eyes to tell that he was lying about how Sheila was just a friend. She had to hand it to the brute, he was great at showing respect to his superiors, but he was a terrible liar, and lying was a characteristic that she did not like, so she decided that she would get to the bottom of who this Sheila was. "You need to work on your lying. Now tell me who this Sheila is, and no more lies," she replied sternly. She then waited for the brute to speak again, waiting to hear his answer to what his purpose was here in her lands. She was slowly becoming a natural at being an alphess because a lot of it with instinct. The brute then spoke again, forgetting to tell her his name, and apologized for being in her lands, and he said that he would leave immediately if she wanted him to. She wanted to shoo him off since he had no purpose here, but she was curious about who Sheila was, and wouldn't let him leave until she found out. "I will let you off the hook, but with a warning. Don't eat prey on my lands again, the prey belongs to me and the members in my pack only. Even though you have no purpose here, are you planning to seek acceptance into my pack," she replied with no emotion. |
