They were dark, a swamp filled with fog so dense wolves were barely able to see their own paws as they stepped forward into the unknown. And the unknown, which pleased Diabolos, was not quite safe. Reckless idiots would never reach the further ends of these lands without running into a tree or falling in a deep pit. The dark brute felt these lands would bring a new beginning to him, a fresh start. He wouldn't have anyone ruling over him this time, nor would he get attached to anything. Diabolos would dominate the area, turn it into a terrain for his own pack to grow before they went out to terrorized the world, taking over land after land until everything was his.
The wolf's piercing golden pools stared through the fog as his legs moved along in a cautious but rather quick pace; he wanted to see the rest of his new lands. He had been sure nobody owned this place, though the lingering scent of a fae left him with doubts about that. Either way, he would not allow her to get in his way. Had she the will to join his newly found pack, Diabolos would gladly greet her if she seemed strong and intelligent. Though, if she'd claimed these lands and was decided not to let him rule, he'd soon terminate her. He refused to be under someone's power. To have to respect someone. Not again.

Keeping the image of his beautiful face in her mind, the fea rushed towards the scent of a new male. Callister had promised to meet her somewhere private, and she fully intended to do so once she had dealt with whoever seemed to be on her trail as well. Her pillars moved swiftly through the fog as the scent got clearer. The fea stepped lightly, determined to make as less noise as possible. Once she reached him, through the fog she could just about see that he was certainly strong and proud. Fara raised her thick plume curtly, irritated that the time spent here was time away from Callister.
The fea laughed quietly to herself. The brute might have thought the same as she, that Charna was unclaimed, so they should be alpha. Fara would be perfectly content with this male as her alpha pair, just so long as she had her beta male somewhere in the ranking. The uncertain Charna weather irritated Fara, and she found a growl slipping from her maw as she approached the brute.
“I’m Fara. Who the hell are you? Why are you here?” She fired, the hackles on her rich auburn pelt raised in a static show of anger. Fara never had been good with strangers, and the fact that she was supposed to be somewhere at the present just annoyed her further. Handsome or not, if this brute was not dark enough, or impertinent; she’d kill him slowly. All lights should be punished...Fara sniggered cruelly, raising her plume dominantly. “And are you alone or are there others?”
This question did not really matter to the fea. The more victims the merrier, in her opinion. But still the young wolf felt the desire to ask. Her auds remained tracked in his direction, and Fara sighed heavily, waiting for his reply.

Quiet footsteps could be heard; the fae was most still quite a distance from Diabolos. The wolf sat down, awaiting what was probably some scrawny little girl who'd gotten lost in the fog. The thought of this pleased him, of the things he'd do to her.. He smirked. How long it had been since he'd done something so terrible. It was about time he renewed his cruelty. Diabolos had wasted much time searching for those he refused to think of any longer, had spent too long thinking about them, and through all those moments he'd forgotten to truly be cruel to the world. Yes, he had rampaged through lands and destroyed many, many innocent creatures, yelling and cursing at them with so much rage before murdering them, but he hadn't spent much time really torturing, or having fun. Now, he was going to return to his old self, and forget about his past. It had made him nothing but weaker.
Words almost brought the dark brute to jump, though he'd had enough practice to keep himself together even in the element of surprise. Nobody would frighten him that easily.. Or at all. Focusing on the voice, Diabolos realized it was the fae, who had been much closer than he'd expected. Through the strange elements of these lands, the dark brute had gotten so distracted his senses had been wrong, for once. She'd been a lot closer than he had calculated. The brute got up and growled at 'Fara', whoever she thought she was, though his pools shone as he realized he was actually quite pleased with what he saw. Unlike what he had expected, the fae appeared to be rather strong, and was definitely not of the light alliance, with how authoritative she was being. She looked okay too, if he dared admit it. Perhaps she would make a fine alphaess, after all.
You will not fucking speak to me like that again, the brute growled, refusing to let her dominate over him. He was going to lead around here, not her. I'll do you the favor and pretend you never did, for this time, but don't expect me to be so generous if you do it again. To be honest the brute wasn't really doing her a favor, obviously, he was doing this for himself more than anything else. If she was indeed as strong as she looked, and could withstand his anger, he would gain a good leader by his side, instead of just another dead body. "I'm Diabolos, and I've come alone to claim these lands in order to begin a dark pack," without giving her any more detail as to why he wanted to start a pack of his own, as it was none of her business and he'd simply wanted to state that he was going to take these lands whether she liked it or not, the dark brute began circling her to examine further, carefully stepping around the ditch that separated them. Would she end up being worth his time? Or was he simply having a conversation that would lead to nothing but her leaving? Secretly, Diabolos almost hoped she would be good enough to stay.

And what makes you so special?” Fara quipped in a slow tone, but teasingly. She smiled at the brute, prancing closer to inspect him. “I’d like to think we’d be more courteous to each other if we both have the same intentions...” She grinned darkly, running her orbs down the brute’s fine body, absorbing it in carefully. He certainly seemed worthy of her time and energy. “So it’s Diabolos. Nice name, very quirky. To claim Charna hmm? Well I’m afraid I beat you to it. But we can forget about that if you wish to be alpha alongside myself?” The fea got to her point quickly. She saw no reason in fooling and flirting around when her true mate was waiting for her just on the border of the everglades.
But that mustn’t distract me...Fara told herself firmly, rolling down onto her haunches and licking her maw in suppressed anticipation. “Are you looking for an alphess?” She said, much softer then the last time. If she was to seduce this brute, Fara would have to show her affectionate side- Or what was left of it. She rolled steadily back on her hind pillars, smirking as she felt her muscles flex obediently with the simple movement.
She certainly now was in better shape then she used to be. The fea had been in a horrific state when she had first came to these lands, but the prospect of a new pack like Charna had prompted her to try harder in keeping up appearances. After all, those who died at her maw surely wanted to see a wolf fit to kill, then the stereotypical scraggly wolf of her age.

Though her tone had softened up when she'd realized he was not going to let her disrespect him, she did not seem to fear him, or think much better of him. Instead of ordering him around, she'd started teasing him, mocking him, and that wasn't going to get her much further. He almost admired her boldness, though. She dared think she stood a chance at surviving if he got angry, dared think there was even one inch of him that was attracted to her enough that he would let her keep acting this way. But he could not, and would not, allow her to think that way, even if deep down he knew she was right. Still, as Fara grinned at him, it actually took some willpower to keep himself from smiling back, which only made him angrier at the situation. What was she doing to him? He had decided on owning these lands, and making her one of the lesser creatures in the pack, but she was only making this more difficult.
Taking a sitting position to show he was perfectly sure she was no danger to him, the dark brute watched while attempting not to laugh as Fara tried seducing him with flattery. Who did she think he was? She was smart, though. After only a few minute of knowing him, she knew exactly what he wanted, and Diabolos was not sure whether or not he liked this. Already she was lowering herself to him, handing him the control of the pack as long as she got her place next to him. She knew she could not win, and this the dark brute liked very much.
Hm, you surprise me. I hadn't seen you as a dark at all, with your small build and the smiles you keep giving me, but since you claim to be one of my kind, we just might get along. Never in his life had Diabolos been one who gave out many compliments, and he was not about to start. His tone rough and without much emotion, he spoke his mind. Of course, if you wish to own this pack by my side, you're going to have to keep showing me you're worth my time. Everyone who had known the brute in the past had known him to be very self-loving, and that was one aspect of him that had not changed. Because really, you're not impressing me with your little attitude. He almost didn't mean that last statement, though, as she had indeed interested him, even if only a slight bit, and that was a difficult thing to accomplish.
We may as well explore these lands further, and you can prove to me you're a dark as we walk along. With that, Diabolos stood and began stepping away from the fae, knowing if she really was interested in staying she would follow him. He didn't really know how exploring would allow her to show her darkness, but to be honest the dark brute only wanted to see more of his lands, and an excuse to get to know her better. So tell me, what is it about you that I should find fascinating enough to bother speaking to you any further? He called back to her, still walking on, waiting for her to follow. He didn't even bother to watch his back; he knew she wouldn't attack.
