Speak - Surma (pronounced: "SER-MAH") Number - Four years Role - XY Believe - Neutral
Look - Tainted ebony swath and steel fleck the masculine’s taught hide in a weathered appearance. The male has never been the most strikingly handsome of wolves so he tends to scare others without really meaning to. His even visage is black with the exception of the gray hairs that peek out here and there. With all the silver that taints the sable brawn, you would think that he was old. This is not so, however. Surma happens to be rather young. The rest of his carriage is a blend of pewter, terra cotta, and a very light sprinkle of bronze highlights along his haunches and back. One thing you will notice about the brute is his stark silver optics. They are pale and devoid of any other pigment. All those silver eyes will show is anything he wants you to see. Everything is spoken through his pallid lens. Surma is quite possibly the shortest lupine you might ever meet. Twenty eight and a half inches in height and five feet nine inches long from nose to tail. For a male he is under average by quite a bit. Because he is short, his muscles are diverted to making the ebon varg stocky and bulked up. Thankfully this makes up for his lack of height. Although he is short, he surprisingly weighs over one hundred twenty pounds. This isn’t because he’s fat, it’s all muscle.
Act - “All bark and no bite” is not the credo that the boy lives by. Surma probably bites before he barks. Smart and not afraid to say his mind, he will definitely hurt you to help you. He speaks the truth regardless if your feelings are injured in the process. This is not because he is trying to be hateful; it’s only his way of caring for others. The boy had a rough history and lived through it. He takes no whining and feels that everyone should think the same way. He is very tough and it shows quite a bit. Never will he back down or stay silent if he disagrees or thinks that things should be done another way. Blunt, to-the-point, and very strict with himself and others, he is really perfectly made to be self-sufficient. Because he is shorter than most wolves, he has a little bit of a Napoleon Complex and can be rather irritable the majority of the day. If there is at least one thing that he does actually love, it would be silence (and a whole lot of it). Silence helps him think and sort out how he wants to do things in his life. Another thing about Surma is that he is often vague about what he wants or thinks, usually because he assumes everyone else can read his mind. It can often frustrate others without intention, so sometimes it’s good to remind him that no one reads his mind. As far as family goes, Surma has never completely got how it works. Considering his somewhat confusing pup-hood, he has a difficult time understanding why anyone would want children. Every once in a while he considers a mate, but he normally feels that he would only bring misery to someone he cared about. Friends: he has none. Growing up isolated from society, the jet brute can be calloused and rude. Again, this isn’t because he is intentionally cruel. It is just his way of expressing himself. The only thing that scares him more is the idea of becoming a dark. Darks make him uncomfortable in spite of his upbringing. Although he is incredibly resilient and well-rounded, Surma’s worst flaw is he is overly hard on others. He feels that everyone should just march through life without looking back. Emotion is frowned upon (but not a complete weakness in his eyes), toughness is applauded. He might reprimand you for the slightest imperfection, but he wants the best out of himself and all that are around him. It takes time for him to warm up, but once he does, he might just surprise you.
Rethink - Surma was born from a mysterious mother and a dark father. His father’s name was Thalion (“warrior”). Thalion was a sadistic killer and was proud of it. His mother’s name was Vis-à-vis (meaning “face-to-face”) and was both quite a confusing lady and somewhat lovely at the same time. Vis-à-vis was given to Thalion as a mate as a transaction of goodwill (and to hopefully prevent the murderer from killing the pack in a fit of rage) by her home pack. Having a mysterious mate only enraged the killer with her unpredictability. One moment she would do anything he asked (ordered) in total submission, and then she would turn around and fight him. Her moments of graciousness baffled him to no end and it bothered him that she wouldn’t fight him. In time her actions amused him and he came to like what he saw. Vis-à-vis was a beautiful and delicate (from a dark’s perspective anyways), something that Thalion could entertain himself with. For a while he treated like a piece of property that he wanted to look pretty and be quiet. He was quite possessive of her and would give a venomous glare to any other males that dare look upon the mate of Thalion. Thalion finally accepted the fact that he wanted her to stay with him. A long process began with Vis whipping the once cruel baron into a relatively subdued version of the original Thalion. He still killed others from time to time for reasons only known to him. But his sprees of violence lessened when Vis became pregnant with his first litter. When she gave birth, there were three males and a female. Surma was the middle of the male pups with his sister being the youngest. The youngest of the three male pups was a stillborn so Surma grew up knowing only his brother and sister. Thalion was hard on his sons, for he wanted them to grow up being strong. Strangely, the battle-weathered sire treated the female with the tenderest affection that – if you knew the male in his killing days – was out of character. Vis reared her offspring as neutrals, hoping that it was keeping them from becoming killers like their father, but still had some dark elements to please Thalion. Surma grew up under strict teaching from his sire and the influence of a mysterious dam, he miraculously remained neutral. The pups grew and left home at two years of age. Since then, Surma has never returned.
